Neuwirth The book “The EU Artificial Intelligence Act: Regulating Subliminal AI Systems” contextualises the future regulation of AI, specifically addressing the regulatory challenges relating to the planned prohibition of the use of AI systems that deploy subliminal techniques. The convergence of AI with various related technologies, such as brain–computer interfaces, functional magnetic resonance imaging, robotics and big data, already allows for “mind reading” or “dream hacking” through brain spyware, as well as other practices that intrude on cognition and the right to freedom of thought. Prof. Liu Jianhong  A book co-authored by Jianhong Liu, Distinguished Professor of the Faculty of Law at the University of Macau (UM), and Bin Liang, professor of sociology at Oklahoma State University, recently received the 2022 Distinguished Book Award from the Asian Criminological Society (ACS). Titled ‘Chinese Netizens’ Opinions on Death Sentences: Empirical Examination’, the book was published by the University of Michigan Press in 2021 and has attracted a lot of attention in the academia. Dr. Ma Zhe  Senior Instructor Dr. Ma Zhe's paper "On the Bankruptcy Prevention Mechanism in Macau Law: from the Perspective of its Difference from Modern Regime of Corporate Reorganization" won the Merit Prize in "The 6th Outstanding Achievement Awards for Macao Research in Humanities and Social Sciences", co-organized by the Macao Foundation and the Social Sciences in China Press. Mr. Iong Man Teng  Man Teng Iong participated, as speaker, in the “2022 Straits Law Forum: Research on Legal Guarantee of Elderly Care Services”, with the topic “The Revolution of Elderly Care in Macao: A Study of Smart Elderly Care and Legal System”. Prof. João Ilhão Moreira   Speaker at conference organized by the Renmin University Institute of International Commercial Dispute Settlement and the FLL Research Circle - Law, Ethics and Technology Study. Presented on the topic: “As Leis De Arbitragem da Lusofonia: Aniversários, Reformas e Tendências: o case de Macau”. Invited to be a member of the Comissão Futuro of the Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. ISSUE 63 (July/August 2022) ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES Prof. Liu Jianhong  Recently, the 13th Annual Conference of the Asian Criminological Society (ACS) was held in India. Distinguished Professor Jianhong Liu from Faculty of Law, University of Macau (UM) was recently invited to deliver a keynote speech online in July 21, 2022, titled ‘Asian Criminology: Elaborating the Concepts, Approach, Paradigm, and Its Future’ at the conference. Prof Liu is the chairman of the General Assembly of the ACS. His presentation was focused on Asian Criminology, including its mission, concepts, approach, paradigm, and future direction, which was highly praised by the experts and scholars. This year’s conference was jointly organized by Asian Criminological Society and Gujarat National Law University. The theme of which was ‘Emerging Trends in Technology and its Impact on Law, Criminal Justice and Public Policy’. The event attracted more than 450 scholars around the world. Dr. Ma Zhe  8 July 2022 Senior Instructor Dr. Ma Zhe was invited to deliver an online lecture titled "The Concept of "Enterprise" in Macao Commercial Law" to students and professors of Guangzhou University. Prof. Rostam J. Z. 在“博彩法評論”上發表論文《澳門博彩業運營者於新冠 疫情：企業社會責任改變進行時》，26（1），335-340 （ESCI）。  João Ilhão Moreira 教授於“太平洋比較法雜誌”第二十六卷（特刊）上發表題為《澳門對 緊急仲裁員態度》的論文，（2022，169-182）。 劉建宏教授  澳門大學法學院特聘教授劉建宏與俄克拉荷馬州立大學教授梁斌的合著《中國網民對死刑的 看法》經密歇根大學出版社於 2021 年出版後，引發學界強烈反響，並獲亞洲犯罪學學會頒 發 2022 年度最佳著作獎。  劉建宏(16/08/2022). “亞洲犯罪學：概念擴展、研究途徑、亞洲範式以及其未來發展“， 《亞洲犯罪學期刊》（SSCI）(Scopus)。  Eric G. Lambert, Francis Boateng, 劉建宏，張金武，江山河（29/08/2022）. “探究中國 獄警生活滿意度與組織公正的關係”. 《監獄雜誌》（SSCI）(Scopus)。 馬哲博士  高級導師馬哲博士的論文《論澳門法中的破產預防制度——以其與現代破產重整制度的區別 為視角》在澳門基金會與中國社會科學雜誌社聯合舉辦的“第六屆澳門人文社會科學研究優 秀成果評獎”活動中獲得優異獎。 第 63 期 (7/8 月 2022) 學術活動 Alexandr Svetlicinii 教授  2022 年 7 月 11 日 在英國伯明翰大學主辦的“中歐全面投資協定”會 議上，發表演講“中歐全面投資協定：規範中國的 競爭執法？”。  2022 年 7 月 14 日 在皇家大學歐洲研究所主辦的“歐盟-中國：氣候變化、貿易和競 爭領域對全球治理的比較經驗和貢獻”國際會議上發表演講“中 國在歐盟的國有企業：從併購控制到投資篩選”。 翁文挺先生  以演講者身份，參與“2022 海峽法學論壇：養老服務法治保障研究”，主題為“澳門養老 的革命：智慧養老與法治研究”。 João Ilhão Moreira 教授  在由中國人民大學國際商事爭端解決研究所和澳門大學法學院法律、倫理與技術研究圈聯合 舉辦的會議上作為發言人並發佈了主題為“As Leis De Arbitragem da Lusofonia: Aniversários, Reformas e Tendências: o case de Macau”的演講。  受邀成為葡萄牙工商會仲裁中心委員會委員。 第 63 期 (7/8 月 2022) 學術活動 劉建宏教授  亞洲犯罪學學會會員大會主席、澳門大學法學院特聘教授劉建宏受亞洲犯罪學學會邀請，於 2022 年 7 月 21 日在亞洲犯罪學學會第十三屆年會上以“亞洲犯罪學：概念擴展、 研究途徑、 亞洲範式以及其未來發展”為題在線作大會主題發言，受到與會專家學者的高度讚揚。今次 大會由亞洲犯罪學學會與印度吉古拉特日邦法律大學共同舉辦，主題為“新興技術趨勢及其 對法律、刑事司法與公共政策的影響”，吸引了來自世界各地超過 450 多位學者參加。 馬哲博士  2022 年 7 月 8 日，高級導師馬哲博士受邀在線上為廣州大學師生作題為《澳門商法中的 “企業”概念》的講座。 Rostam J.
